Which test, when?
- Start with FIB-4 (or NFS) for every adult with fatty liver or metabolic risk.
- If it is not low, do a FibroScan. Use the explainer, then Agile 3+ and Agile 4 to sharpen the answer.
- FAST helps find active MASH with significant fibrosis, for example before referral for treatment.
- FLI and HSI screen for liver fat when no scan is available. They do not measure fibrosis.
