In short
A Mediterranean-style diet works best: lots of vegetables, legumes, whole grains, fish and olive oil, with fewer sugary and processed foods.
No single "liver diet" or special food cures fatty liver. The overall pattern, kept up for years, is what counts.
- Fill half your plate with vegetables
- Choose brown bread, bulgur or brown rice over white
- Eat fish twice a week; beans and lentils often
- Use olive oil instead of ghee or butter
- Cut sugary drinks, sweets and fried food
